UNISON Celebrates our women workers!
Join us for our second free union film night, this time we will be watching “Made in Dagenham” and celebrating the history of women in the labour movement.
“In 1968, the Ford auto factory in Dagenham was one of the largest single private employers in the United Kingdom. In addition to the thousands of male employees, there are also 187 underpaid women machinists who primarily assemble the car seat upholstery in poor working conditions. Dissatisfied, the women, represented by the shop steward and Rita O'Grady, work with union rep Albert Passingham for a better deal.”
This event is yet again free and open to all members and non-members and all genders! We will all join together to celebrate our women workers that make our union stronger!
The event is free, but we ask that attendees bring an item for our food bank parcels.
For any more info and to reserve your free tickets please email unison.branchoffice@stockton.
